Trapped and institutionalized
No chance of escape
Role on July 2009
God I can’t wait
You’re constantly watched
Wherever you go
There’s always a report
Just please let me go home
Let out for good behaviour
In your dreams
West Kent/Bromley college is about as far as you’ll get
So it seams
Taken out very occasionally
When it suits them
Even then you’re Dortonized
And then
Be in your rooms by a certain time
You having a bath or a shower
They constantly ask
This same old lecture seems to last an hour
But in Kemsing unit
Little do the staff know
We may say we’re doing these rituals
But who knows
We’re really staying up later than they want us to
Eating crisps and discussing the day
Well what else are we to do
Dorton our whole lives away
Signing in and out
What a nightmare
Its not even made big enough for us to see
This is a college for the blind, do you even care?
We get to see our parents
But that’s only an exception
When we have our review
Which is still part of the detention
Though my family are nice
They come and rescue me
That’s what comes from being nice to your parents all this time
So you see
But for most
Who have just been packed off here
They’re completely Dortonized
And probably full of fear
So now you know
What little benefits it has
And you can understand
Why I call it ALCATRAZ
By Naomi Stevenson
lol. i love that poem. the last sentence just about sums it up
Yep, RNCB was exactly like that. Which is why, the next educational establishment I will attend will be the Open University.
i think you should write more poetry, it's good. :)
funny enough, I was at Dorton, and ended up with the open university too!
i've herd much the same as the first poster writes about dorton. i narrowly avoided going there once, thank goodness.
Robbin Island maybe?
Or maybe insert name of prison of your choosing.
